- Apology -

CRUSADES: The Holy Lands came under Christian control and protection around 300 AD under Constantine, founder of the Byzantium Empire, and remained Christian for the next 700 years. Islam did not even come into being until around 600 AD, and did not make significant inroads into the Holy Lands until around 1000 BC. When Muslims invaded the Holy Lands, they took it with the same violence and horror as ISIS is doing today. The Crusades were a legitimate attempt by Christian forces to repel the Muslim invaders and regain the Holy Lands.

INQUISITIONS: Both Christianity and Islam had inquisitions. And Islam still has them today, as ISIS is brutally demonstrating. Just try criticizing Islam, converting to another religion, or preaching "reform" in a Muslim-run country. You will find yourself before an Inquisition -- facing a brutal death penalty. Christian inquisitions were a necessity to root out the Islamic practice of taqiyya -- whereby Islam allows Muslims to lie about converting to Christianity if in the long run it served the purpose of protecting and furthering Islam.

EXPULSION OF MUSLIMS (around 1500 AD). This was a legitimate action by Christians in Spain, who found that converting Muslims was simply impossible, and those that professed to convert could not be trusted. Muslim revolts and intrigues were constantly being hatched by Muslims and "converts". The first "expulsion" was really a dispersion of large Muslim communities within Spain in hopes it would aid in their assimilation under a Christian society. However after two major Muslim uprisings, it became clear that the only viable solution was just to deport them all. And, as seen in the Muslim "no-go" areas in France today, wholesale expulsion is the only viable solution today.
